World Heritage Sites Now Total 788 Properties

During the annual 2004 conference, the World Heritage Committee inscribed 34 new properties, of which 29 are cultural sties and 5 are natural sites. The total number of World Heritage Sites is now 788.

For the first time, the countries of Andorra, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Iceland, St. Lucia and Togo have World Heritage Sites.
