- Mesa Verde (1978)
Cliff dwellings inhabited by a prehistoric people, called Ancentral Puebloans, nestle inside alcoves in canyon walls. Why these people left this area in the late 1200s and where they went is still a mystery. Visitors can tour several of the fascinating dwellings, including Balcony House, Cliff Palace and Spruce Tree House.

- Yellowstone (1978)
Soaring geysers, bubbling mudpots and hissing fumaroles intrigue visitors at this huge caldera, with mountains and lakes adding to its beauty. American buffalo, black bears and elk are favorite sightings for adults and children alike. From hiking in summer to touring on snowcoaches in winter, exploring the park is a fascinating adventure year-round.

- Everglades National Park (1979)
This ecological wonderland in southern Florida features the largest continuous stand of sawgrass prairie in North America, the largest mangrove ecosystem in the Western Hemisphere, and the most significant breeding grounds for tropical wading birds in North America. It also is the only place in the world inhabited by both alligators and crocodiles. The park teems with beautiful birds, landscapes and wildlife.

Touring the lovely plantation home, Monticello, gives insight into the life and times of Thomas Jefferson, author of the Declaration of Independence, founder of the University of Virginia and third president of the United States.
